
Guidelines for submitting work (children)When selecting children's work for the ‘Write on!’ section of the magazine, preference will be given to children aged 12 and under. Children with work appearing in ‘Write on!’ receive one copy of the issue in which their work is published and receive one entry into the 'Write on!' prize draw for that issue. Due to the volume of material received, we are unable to publish everything sent to us. (If your piece is not selected for publication, it will be returned to you with some brief comments from our editor.) If you’d like to send your work for consideration, please read the following guidelines. *NOTE: You need to include a PERMISSION FORM signed by you and your parent/guardian with any work you send in to us. You can print the Guidelines & Permission Form, or contact us and we'll email or post you one! StoriesNo longer than 350 words. (Shorter is fine!) PoemsNo longer than 25 lines. (Shorter is fine!) Book reviewsUp to 200 words (shorter is fine!). Please include author’s name, title of book and (if possible) ISBN. (This is the number that often appears under the barcode on the back cover of a book.) Reviews that are longer than 200 words will not appear in the magazine but will be published on our blog. You may use any materials you like. Please use white A4 paper and write your name and address on the back of the page in pencil (so it doesn't show through on the other side). Your artwork may be printed smaller than the original to fit among all the stories and poems in the magazine. TeachersIf your class has written reviews, poems, or stories all on the same topic or theme, please send us a selection of the best. We are unable to publish 30 pieces on a similar theme. When you send in work, we will select work for publication and the remainder will be returned to your students with our editor's comments. Note: Book reviews that are longer than 200 words will not appear in the magazine, but will be published on our blog. Thank you for encouraging your students' imaginations! Include the permission form! If your work is accepted for publication, we will print your name, age, suburb and state in the magazine, unless you advise us otherwise. Please note: sometimes pages from the magazine appear on our website or blog as downloadable samples (including pages from 'Write on!').
