COMPETITIONS!

SUMMER 2009 WRITING COMPETITION - WIN A $20 BOOK VOUCHER!

Entries closed 3 JANUARY 2010

Pretend you are a character in the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Write a letter to another character the day after the story ends. Letters can be up to 200 words long (shorter is fine). Include a competition entry form. This may be printed from the website (see competition rules below), photocopied, or contact us to have one emailed or posted to you.

Your entry can be handwritten or typed. Make a copy of your entry as we cannot return entries.

*Writing tip* If you're not sure how to get started, the Australia Post website has some useful letter-writing tips for kids!

General competition rules:

The judges' decision is final.

Immediate family members of Alphabet Soup Publishing are not eligible to enter.

Unless otherwise stated, children aged 13 or older at the closing date of the competition are not eligible to enter.

Children do not have to subscribe to Alphabet Soup magazine to enter the competition. However, winners are not automatically sent a copy of the magazine. If you are not a subscriber and you'd like to purchase a copy of the issue that includes your winning entry, you are welcome to order a copy online (see the 'subscribe' page - you can purchase single copies here too!) or purchase one from one of our stockists.

We cannot accept joint entries. (This means you can't work on your entry with a friend.)

By entering the competition, you agree to us publishing your entry in Alphabet Soup magazine if it is a prize-winner. If we publish your entry, we will only print your name, age, suburb and state in the magazine, unless you advise us otherwise.

Use a competition entry form as a cover page for your entry. (Print the PDF of the form.) To be eligible for the competition, the copyright declaration on the cover page must be signed by you and your parent or guardian.

Make a copy of your entry to keep, as we cannot return entries.

When this is done, you can post it to:

WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT ENTRIES VIA EMAIL UNLESS YOU INCLUDE A SCAN OF THE ENTRY FORM AS A COVER PAGE, WITH THE SIGNED COPYRIGHT DECLARATION!

Happy writing!
